Hello! I’m Sergei Gladkov

About Me
I am a Project Researcher at the Pan-European Institute, Department of Marketing and International Business, Turku School of Economics, University of Turku, Finland (since 2022).
My research focuses on sustainable development and cross-border economic relations in the Arctic, with particular emphasis on how geopolitical transformations shape infrastructure development, national strategies, and patterns of regional interaction. My interests also include the intensifying rivalry between Russia, China, and the United States, whose competing interests are reshaping the Arctic’s political and economic landscape.
I am currently working on a project exploring the transformation of Russian outbound investment in the post-2022 geopolitical context, supported by the Niilo Helander Foundation (Finland).
Background
Previously, I served as a consultant at the Maxwell Centre, University of Cambridge, contributing to the project “Challenges and Opportunities of Achieving Zero Carbon in the Nordic Countries.”
My academic background includes a Master of Science in History from Petrozavodsk State University and participation in the International Studies Program at the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
Feel free to contact me for research collaborations, interviews, or further discussion of Arctic and Eurasian regional dynamics.
